As part of a small group I was tasked with developing a solution to the common problem of binder rings becoming misaligned overtime. This is the best example to date of me following my design process as I needed to come up with multiple divergent solutions, develop them and then, with my team, narrow down the list of options available (both my design and theirs), before finally reaching a final design that we then prototyped and further developed. Additionally I wrote many sections of reports about our designs and how they solve the problems, as well as editing my teammates' work. I learned a lot from this design process and it definitely helped me to improve my design process and better report my design objectives and decisions as well as further strengthened my teamwork skills. Being able to work as part of a team is an invaluable ability, and will almost certainly be unavoidable later on once I get into the industry, so further developing these skills now is a critical part of my education. Therefore I will certainly take part in more team related projects in the future and continue to build-on and refine my engineering design process.
