This is an example of me putting my first step of my design process into practice. Through research (in this case taking apart the products) I can gain a further understanding of their design decisions, better informing me about these particular products. During these teardowns it was important to ask questions about almost every little aspect of the devices because their designers would have left as few things to chance as possible in order to make a quality consumer product. Everything from the material used, the size, the shape, the way it appeared to be manufactured, how accessible it was, the types of tools used to manufacture and assemble it were all important considerations for the products' designers for all parts of these items. Through analyzing the design work of other engineers I was able to gain an understanding of the level of detail and considerations I should take when undergoing my own design process. Practicing getting myself to think about all of these details and how they relate enhances my ability to do design work in the future because of my understanding that little details can have a great impact on the design as a whole.
