Hello! My name is Cameron Buttazzoni and I am a current first year student at the University of Toronto studying Engineering Science. I was born and raised in Canada and have spent almost my whole life here. One notable exception being me choosing to participate in a study abroad program in Hong Kong for my grade 11 high school year. I am greatly interested in learning new things, about practically any topic, and trying new things. I chose to study Engineering Science at UofT for a few different reasons. I have also been passionate about math and science and want to further myself in those subjects. I enjoy being challenged and knew I would learn a lot and grow in numerous ways by going through such a rigorous program, and by working hard for 4 years, I will grow immensely to become a much better person, and a better engineer than I would have been if I had instead studied elsewhere. In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar and alto saxophone, studying foreign languages, watching movies, playing sports such as hockey and soccer, reading articles online and spending time with friends. I believe that being willing to always try new things will bring precious experiences that allow for one's further growth, and will give a diverse perspective that will enable them to be better equipped to handle any challenges they come across. Trying to live out that philosophy, striving to always better myself and learn new things, as well as being sure to enjoy the journey and stay positive and optimistic through life's up and downs are what define me as a person, and will therefore shape what kind of engineer I plan on becoming.
